Our Local Home Farm!

Today we walked to Mrs Hooper's house just around the corner to see her mini farm as part of our Science study into the natural world.  It was a very little walk and we practised our road safety skills.

First we said hello to Frankie and Flossy the two gorgeous wooly sheep.  Then we met the four chickens, Princess, Violet, Clover and Pancake. We found some eggs and guessed which hen had been busy laying them!  Some of us were lucky enough to stroke the sheep and feed the chickens.

Just to finish off our perfect outing we had a jump on the trampoline and covered Mrs Hooper's driveway with beautiful chalk art work.  Take a look at al the fun photos below.

Te Hapua Visit and Kapa Haka

What a wonderful week we have had! We loved our walk to Te Hapua - Halswell Library. Thank you to all of the fantastic parent helpers that came along. We read books, had a tour of the library and learnt how to return and issue items.

We also enjoyed another fun Kapa Haka session with Matua Willy and Whaea Tania. We practised using rakau sticks as we sang "E Papa Waiari."
