Maanakitanga

The Ahuriri kaiako have been particularly taken by the way the tamariki have been displaying maanakitanga towards each other. We have seen many moments where the ākonga have provided comfort to someone who is sad, they have hugged each other, shared toys and been considerate friends.

In Maori culture, manaakitanga is a traditional value that is considered to be hugely important. The art of hosting visitors, being generous and caring about the treatment of others.
